Morris Fleisman (1852 – 1937) started a ‘hyde [sic] and wool’ business. The company bought animal hides from farmers and treated them for leather products such as shoes and purses. His son, Frank Samuel Fleisman (1892 – 1970), continued the business until a couple of years before his death when he sold to a competitor. Frank Fleisman was the father of Jean Fleisman Ghertner (1915-2005). A bit more on Fleisman’s here.
